====== Multicultural Topics in Communication Sciences & Disorders ====== This website is a work-in-progress of the graduate students in Speech-Language Pathology at Portland State University in Portland, Oregon. It is intended to be a resource for SLPs in the Portland area working with individuals from a different cultural and/or linguistic background than their own. It differs from many resources because we are including cultural background information as well as linguistic information, realizing that valid assessment & intervention for communication disorders can not be taking the same tools and translating them to a new language, rather the whole approach to the disorder will be culturally embedded. ====== Cultural Information ====== * By [[Language]] * By [[Country]] * By [[Cultural Topic]] * By [[Geographic Region]] ====== Bilingual Information ====== * [[Bilingualism]] * [[Assessment]] * [[Intervention]] * [[Working with Interpreters]] * [[Native English Speakers Learning 2nd Languages]] ====== Clinical Aspects of Multiculturalism ====== * [[Communication Disorders from Different Cultural Perspectives]] * [[Education Policy]] * [[International Adoption]] ====== Other ====== * [[Community Resources for Culturally and Lingually Diverse Clients|Community Resources for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Clients]] * [[Additional Resources]] * [[Site Map]] ---- //Disclaimer: This site is a work in-progress that is being developed slowly.
